Dear Friends and Family:
We hope this finds you well. It’s hard to believe how quickly another year has passed. As November draws near, we would like to share with you an exciting new development with The Jay Bon Salle Foundation as well as update you on the Annual Memorial Golf Outing.
During the past year, we met with the staff at the Department of Pediatrics at the UM Miller School of Medicine, where doctors shared with us an underserved need for patients - nonmedical financial assistance. As a result of these meetings, we have created The Jay Bon Salle Fund at the Miller School of Medicine to directly benefit congenital heart patients and their families who are seeking treatment at the Division of Pediatric Cardiology.
The staff and doctors at UM will identify patients who are most in need of assistance and disburse grants from The Jay Bon Salle Fund to the patients and their families for non-medical expenses such as, travel, lodging, meals, etc. All contributions to the Foundation will be directed dollar for dollar to The Jay Bon Salle Fund.
This new direction will allow us to make a direct impact as well as align the Foundation with Jay’s aspirations to help make the lives of fellow congenital heart patients less difficult.
With this exciting new focus, the Foundation’s Board of Directors has made the difficult decision to postpone the Annual Memorial Golf Outing until next year. In doing so, the Foundation will be able to focus on the implementation of the necessary elements and legal requirements to successfully launch The Jay Bon Salle Fund in the fall of this year. This concerted launch effort will hopefully allow us to reach our immediate goal of assisting up to 20 families and start making a direct contribution to assist congenital heart patients.

We will need your support, now more than ever, to seed the new Fund and ensures its success. Over the coming months we will provide you with additional information about the Fund and how you can help.
