Dear Friends and Family:
We hope this finds you well. It is hard to believe that almost nine years have passed since our last Memorial Golf Tournament. Yet your continued genoristy over the years has allowed us to help more families and children with congential heart defects. We have continued to find useful ways to disperse the funds that you so generously donated, to families in need.
During the past year, we met with the staff at the Nicklaus Childrens Hospital (formerly Miami Childrens Hospital). The Division of Pediatric Cardiology shared with us their cutting-edge advancements in treating and resolving congenital heart defects. It seemed only natural that we establish a partnership with Nicklaus Childrens and provide nonmedical financial assistance through The Jay Bon Salle Fund.
Now, we are proud partners with the Department of Pediatrics at the UM Miller School of Medicine, as well as Childrens National Hospital in Washington, DC and Nicklaus Childrens Hospital.
Each of the hospitals have staff and doctors that identify patients who are most in need of assistance and disburse grants from The Jay Bon Salle Fund to the patients and their families for non-medical expenses such as, travel, lodging, meals, etc. All contributions to the The Jay Bon Salle Foundation are directed dollar for dollar to The Jay Bon Salle Fund.
These partnerships allow us to make a direct impact in the lives of children as well as align the Foundation with Jay’s aspirations to help make the lives of fellow congenital heart patients less difficult. With this concerted effort, we have exceeded our goal of assisting up to 20 families and have now provided assitance to over 80 families.
